What does sleepwear mean? Well it’s not that old t-shirt, and it’s not really jim-jams, unless they are silk or satin; we’re talking a chemise, or a camisole and a nightgown, or maybe a baby doll (but that’s not really for sleeping in is it?).
Do you lounge? then you can treat yourself to some loungewear.
Change into your sleepwear for sleep. That’s simply enough. Buy a beautiful nightgown, that you find attractive and relaxing, easy to wear, and comforting. Half of the job is inducing sleep; if you associate a piece of clothing only with sleep you’re well on your way to the land of nod.
You’ve had a long day.
You just want some peace, some relaxation, something just for yourself. You look after yourself don’t you? Well do you? You deserve to relax. A medium priced nighty and nightgown will make you feel good about yourself.
Intimate luxurious night attire is not just a treat. Yep it costs a bit more than Tom’s-tatty-t-shirt but it makes you feel good, lingerie of quality contains no harmful bacteria or un-oaked Chardonnay.
Some Musts and Some Maybes
Sleepwear is an opportunity to get away from the day and have some privacy and the right choice of material and cut will make you feel worthwhile.
Baby Doll
Like I said it’s not for sleeping in.
Bed Jacket
Buy one if you sit up reading or your lover is bringing breakfast in bed.
Kimono
Something to put on after a shower.
Negligee
That’s the one. Yes this is the one for you. Feel the silk, the lace, and jiggle the ruffles.
Nightgowns or Nightie
Short and cotton for the summer nights, Long slip-like and silky – for the lady of discernment, oozes confidence.
Pyjamas
You know my feeling on this one, Have it your own way. O’ unless you go for the Chinese pyjama with the side slits in bright patterns; yummy scale of 3.
Peignor
A robe to promote your feminine side. Look for a matching nightgown to make a very sexy combination.
NIght Shirt
It may be comfortable but it’s Dulll (yes dull with three ‘L’s).
Teddy
Fine if you’re sleeping alone but you’re not going to get any peace if you share your bed.
